Significant strides are happening at North Twenty Place as we head into February! The roof trusses are about 80% installed, although there were some delays due to heavy winds. Fortunately, the roof framing is moving along nicely, and we’re aiming to get the sheathing up by the end of next week. Everything is framed except for the corners, so we’re almost there!
As for the exterior, we’ve partially completed the building wrap on the fourth floor, but the main focus right now is on getting the roof finished. We did run into some ice removal challenges that impacted window and patio door prep. In order to get the patio door installed, we had to bring in a special heater to melt the ice—definitely a unique challenge, but we got it done!
Inside the building, the mechanical team is making great strides. Most of the piping and rough-ins in the parkade ceiling are complete, and plumbing pipes are now being installed in the second-floor suites. As the project moves forward, a few more installations will be needed. Meanwhile, the glycol heating system is fully operational, providing heat to the parkade, second, and third floors—another key step forward.
In the garage, the roof is now complete, with rough-ins at 90% and garage doors on order. The team has also been busy with electrical work—meter stacks are in place, and the focus has now shifted to the rough-ins in the suites.
Looking ahead, we’re targeting to complete the roof covering in February, so that’s a key milestone we’re excited about. In addition, the homeowner walk-throughs will be happening soon, and we’ll be scheduling those for the second floor shortly. We’ll keep you updated as we move forward with the walk-through scheduling!
It’s an exciting time for the team, and we’re keeping things on track as we head into the final stages of construction!
